Opportunity Finder
Opportunity Finder is a working prospecting queue. It scans live CRM data for contacts worth speaking to and scores the opportunities so staff can concentrate on the strongest conversations first.
It is not a report. The expectation is that staff work the list and record what they did.
Opportunity types
The initial opportunity engines include:
- Property-to-sell buyers - buyers/applicants who indicate that they have a property to sell.
- Lapsed valuations - valuations still awaiting a decision after the configured ageing period.
- Withdrawn vendor win-backs - previously withdrawn properties that may be worth re-contacting.
- Dormant applicants - contacts still shown as Looking but with no recent activity.
The system excludes some false positives, for example a property-to-sell buyer whose property is already actively listed with your agency.
How to work the list
A practical sequence is:
- sort/filter to the strongest scores;
- open the Contact/Property and understand the background;
- make the call/send the communication;
- record the outcome in Standout;
- use the Opportunity Finder workflow action.
Workflow actions
Create follow-up task
- Creates a real Standout diary/task follow-up linked to the opportunity context.
Mark contacted
- Records that the opportunity has been worked and hides it for the configured period so it does not immediately reappear.
Snooze
- Hide it for 7, 30 or 90 days when the opportunity is valid but the timing is wrong.
Dismiss
- Hide an opportunity that is not useful.
Restore
- Re-activate a previously hidden opportunity.
Property-to-sell buyers
These are usually the most valuable opportunities because the agency may gain a valuation/instruction as well as progressing the buyer.
Before calling, review their buying requirements and current property-to-sell status. A useful conversation is:
- I can see you're still looking around £400,000 and you mentioned you have a property to sell. Have you had that valued yet?
If they want a valuation, use the Telephone wizard or normal valuation workflow to create/book it.
Lapsed valuations
Review the valuation date, property, vendor notes and any previous follow-up before calling. Do not ask a generic are you ready to sell? if the CRM already records the vendor's objection or timing.
Withdrawn vendors
Check why the property was withdrawn and whether circumstances may have changed. Record the new outcome rather than simply rescheduling the same generic call indefinitely.
Dormant applicants
Use the call to verify whether they are still looking and whether their requirements are still correct. If not, update their status/requirements so the CRM stops treating them as active.
Data quality matters
Opportunity Finder is driven by live CRM data. It becomes more useful when staff accurately maintain:
- contact status;
- requirements;
- property-to-sell position;
- valuation outcomes;
- property statuses;
- meaningful notes and communications.
Suggested routine
Review Opportunity Finder daily or during dedicated prospecting blocks. A smaller, accurately worked queue is more valuable than hundreds of permanently untouched opportunities.
