# Open Opportunity Finder at the start of the prospecting period.
# Work from the highest scores downward.
# Open the Contact before calling to review the customer's history and current position.
# Create a follow-up task if another action is required later.

# Periodically review hidden opportunities for items that should be restored.

== How the list is generated ==

The opportunities themselves are calculated live from existing Standout CRM information. Standout does not maintain a separate duplicate prospecting database.

A small workflow-state record is used only to remember actions such as contacted, snoozed, dismissed and follow-up task creation.

== Good data improves Opportunity Finder ==

Opportunity Finder is most effective when staff keep the CRM current. In particular:

* keep applicant status and position accurate;
* record communications consistently;
* update valuation and property statuses promptly;
* record a buyer's property-to-sell position;
* close or update requirements when a customer's plans change.

Opportunity Finder

Opportunity Finder is a working prospecting queue. It scans live CRM data for contacts worth speaking to and scores the opportunities so staff can concentrate on the strongest conversations first.

It is not a report. The expectation is that staff work the list and record what they did.

Opportunity types

The initial opportunity engines include:

  • Property-to-sell buyers - buyers/applicants who indicate that they have a property to sell.
  • Lapsed valuations - valuations still awaiting a decision after the configured ageing period.
  • Withdrawn vendor win-backs - previously withdrawn properties that may be worth re-contacting.
  • Dormant applicants - contacts still shown as Looking but with no recent activity.

The system excludes some false positives, for example a property-to-sell buyer whose property is already actively listed with your agency.

How to work the list

A practical sequence is:

  1. sort/filter to the strongest scores;
  2. open the Contact/Property and understand the background;
  3. make the call/send the communication;
  4. record the outcome in Standout;
  5. use the Opportunity Finder workflow action.

Workflow actions

Create follow-up task

Creates a real Standout diary/task follow-up linked to the opportunity context.

Mark contacted

Records that the opportunity has been worked and hides it for the configured period so it does not immediately reappear.

Snooze

Hide it for 7, 30 or 90 days when the opportunity is valid but the timing is wrong.

Dismiss

Hide an opportunity that is not useful.

Restore

Re-activate a previously hidden opportunity.

Property-to-sell buyers

These are usually the most valuable opportunities because the agency may gain a valuation/instruction as well as progressing the buyer.

Before calling, review their buying requirements and current property-to-sell status. A useful conversation is:

I can see you're still looking around £400,000 and you mentioned you have a property to sell. Have you had that valued yet?

If they want a valuation, use the Telephone wizard or normal valuation workflow to create/book it.

Lapsed valuations

Review the valuation date, property, vendor notes and any previous follow-up before calling. Do not ask a generic are you ready to sell? if the CRM already records the vendor's objection or timing.

Withdrawn vendors

Check why the property was withdrawn and whether circumstances may have changed. Record the new outcome rather than simply rescheduling the same generic call indefinitely.

Dormant applicants

Use the call to verify whether they are still looking and whether their requirements are still correct. If not, update their status/requirements so the CRM stops treating them as active.

Data quality matters

Opportunity Finder is driven by live CRM data. It becomes more useful when staff accurately maintain:

  • contact status;
  • requirements;
  • property-to-sell position;
  • valuation outcomes;
  • property statuses;
  • meaningful notes and communications.

Suggested routine

Review Opportunity Finder daily or during dedicated prospecting blocks. A smaller, accurately worked queue is more valuable than hundreds of permanently untouched opportunities.
